I received my Master of Acupuncture Degree from the New England School of Acupuncture
in Watertown, MA and am Nationally Certified by the Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I am proficient in both Chinese and Japanese style acupuncture and certified to administer Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique.
As a registered nurse, I have worked in a variety of health care settings including acute care and ICU. Also, as a Certified Case Manager, coordinating care for catastrophically injured and terminally ill patients.
I discovered acupuncture when I was looking/exploring new ways of understanding the human body/mind/spirit and its relationship to vitality and health. As part of that process, I became a patient of acupuncture and discovered a new sense of wellbeing.
I have practiced yoga for 20+ years and have found it to be a foundation for my own life and well being. I knew that many of my acupuncture clients would benefit greatly from ongoing yoga classes but wanted to make appropriate referrals. I found Svaroopa® Yoga and it was a wonderful and very safe place to send clients. I started attending classes myself and then took the teacher training. I have been teaching yoga classes since 2004.
My mission is to incorporate my knowledge of western and eastern medicine and yoga to assist individuals in restoring harmony and balance within their bodies and accelerating their natural healing process.

Rachel is a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) in New York City and she is accredited by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. She received her training to practice Health Counseling at IIN through Columbia University ’s Teacher College . IIN is the only nutrition school integrating all the different dietary theories and current studies. Rachel has studied the traditional philosophies as well as the modern concepts like the USDA food pyramid, the glycemic index, the Zone and the raw food diet. Her combined knowledge of diet and nutrition, holistic methods, food politics, Chinese medicine and Ayurveda provides her clients with a well-rounded guide to wellness.
Taking action now is critical for long-term health, so educating people about the importance of developing a preventative diet and lifestyle is the cornerstone of Rachel’s work. She has witnessed so many people struggle with health issues and rely on medications or artificial means to control or mask the symptoms of their ailments. Her mission is to help people heal themselves naturally using holistic methods and improve their quality of life so they are not limited by compromised health.
She works to help spread awareness of the impact every single person has on the world and on their bodies through the food and lifestyle choices they make. Her passion for healing and happiness through holistic means began years ago with her own digestive problems as a teenager. After struggling on medications that never fixed the problem, she healed herself completely with diet and lifestyle changes. Helping others find this profound effect (and relief!) with their own health issues and health education has been her passion ever since.
