During the initial consult, I take time getting to know you,
your current health care concerns and medical history. A Chinese
and or Japanese diagnosis is then formulated; this will include
a wrist pulse, abdominal palpation and observation of your tongue. An individual treatment plan will be developed based on
your diagnosis. An acupuncture treatment will be included during your first
visit.
Follow-up visits: approximately 45-60 min.
I only use sterile, one-time use, disposable stainless steel
needles.
ACUPUNCTURE: HOW IT WORKS
Oriental medicine is the oldest continuously practiced medicine in the world. It has evolved from observation and practice over more than 3,000 years.
Eastern philosophy believes that everything within the body is connected and mutually dependent as one unified system. When all elements are in balance, life is in harmony and it flourishes. The body/ mind/spirit are seen as interconnected and as one entity.
Acupuncture stimulates the body to aid and accelerate its own natural healing processes. It can effectively treat a wide variety of problems, acute and chronic, physical and emotional. This is accomplished by the diagnosis of “patterns of disharmony” or imbalances in the body system and designing a treatment plan for each individual to bring his or her body/mind/spirit back into balance.
As a first choice of therapy, there are good reasons to consider Acupuncture. It is effective and free of negative side effects. It affects the underlying cause of illness or pain as well as the symptoms. The cumulative effect of Acupuncture can provide long term relief. It can be used for any illness with immune dysfunction (ex. CFS, MS and Lupus). It is a valuable preventive technique/adjunct for health maintenance.
